Mercury Verado 150 hp consumes up to 20 percent less fuel through the power band than the 150 hp Yamaha, up to 23 percent less than the 150 hp Suzuki and up to 40 percent less than the 150 hp Evinrude E-TEC. The eccentric grooved crankshaft main bearings deliver improved oil retention surrounding the crankshaft main bearings and reduce the amount of flow-through to the crankcase. The enhanced PCM calibration helps optimize fuel economy at full throttle and cruising speeds. The enhanced power train features forged pistons, precision machined oil dams, eccentric grooved crankshaft main bearings, an all-new intake cam profile, and a new PCM (power control module) calibration. Compared to a cast piston, the new forged pistons provide increased strength and resistance to temperature and wear, added durability and are lighter in weight. The precision machined oil dams significantly reduce the amount of oil allowed to remain suspended in the crankcase. This is achieved by reducing the tolerance between the oil dam and crankshaft lobe and connecting rod. The Verado multichambered Intake Sound Attenuator not only reduces overall noise by up to 14 decibels, it also tunes the engine sound to a more pleasing tone. Verado inherently runs smoother than conventional V-block outboard engines thanks to its Inline Design. Verado’s exclusive Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering system eliminates steering torque while delivering a precise steering feel. The SmartCraft® Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) System delivers automotive-like control, instant throttle response and smooth shifting by eliminating the hesitation of traditional mechanical cable systems.

Diesel Inboard Engines
Diesel engines rely on compression to power the engine. Judge against to a traditional gas engine, the engines are alike by design, as they have cylinders and pistons; though, the fuel systems are totally different and more multifaceted on a diesel engine. Diesel engines variety in size and horse power. Diesel engines are extensively used in other parts of the world, they are characteristically found in boats larger than 35 feet in the United States, The major reason that diesel engines are not used in lesser boats is weight. The engine in all-purpose weighs more than a gas engine. Though, they are used in larger vessels because of their ability to create torque. In wide-ranging diesel engines run at lower RPM's than a traditional gas engines.
Features of Diesel Inboard Engines
Excellent torque
Long existence hope
No carbon monoxide to be anxious about in cabins or on the reverse of boats
Majority of the engines weigh more than a tradditional gas engine
