North Caddo boat launch re-opens
June 5. 2008. A public boat launch in north Caddo reopens today. Boaters can resume launching their crafts near the state Highway to bridge over Red River between Plain Dealing and Hosston starting this morning.
However, the dock at that launch area remains covered by sediment and debris following recent high water and is unusable until a dredging crew clears it.
The Red River boat launches at Stoner Avenue off Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway in Shreveport and at the Shreveport-Barksdale Highway bridge off Arthur Ray Teague Parkway in Bossier City previously reopened.
The Red River Waterway Commission closed public boat launches in May following heavy rains that caused the river to rise by up to 4 feet.
